I’m Corey, the voice you hear on TheDigiKnow and the author of Dot Monster ReVolution. Here’s what’s going on with both in February!
Approaching The End Of Beyblade
On February 25th 2024 I published “The Original Beyblade Was Special,” the first part of my Beyblade review series. Just under a year later I’ve released the first of a two-part review on G-Revolution, the third and final series in the original Beyblade anime run!
I’d love to have G-Revolution Pt 2 out on Feb 25th but I don’t think it’s realistic. I still need to take notes on 20+ episodes, compare the sub & dub, write & record the script, and edit the visuals. Still, we’re almost at the end of this Beyblade journey!
One thing that didn’t make it into my first G-Revolution video is any discussion of the Bit Beasts. We are monster tamer fans after all! G-Revolution doesn’t get rid of the Bit Beasts altogether, but uses them as metaphors and visualizations of attacks, like you would see with team mascots in Haikyu!!. I understand the approach, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the fantastical element of the BitBeasts. Especially when V-Force was entirely about those Sacred Spirits.
Dot Monster Is In A Store!
The coolest DotMon development between my Episode Zero post and now is that A & C Games in Toronto now stocks my book, Dot Monster ReVolution!
I had some friends tell me they wanted to read the book but did not like shopping on Amazon. I wanted at least one alternative, and am so glad Gar & Chang at A & C were interested in stocking it.
I worked there part-time around 2015-2017 and it’s always been a treat popping back in. I recently discovered they’ve gone all in on stocking Beyblade X, including Japanese imports like the Draciel remake blade that just released!
Of course, you can still get Dot Monster ReVolution as a Kindle eBook or Physical Paperback on Amazon. But if for whatever reason you don’t do Amazon, A & C has got you covered! DotMon is on their online shop, too.
My last DotMon update for this post: take a look at this re:volution of the lead DotMon! In the series, a Dot Monster’s final forms is referred to as Noble, or Lossless. This is the true form of the little bird knight Aki meets in Chapter 1, illustrated by @weirdomonok.
Those who have read the book already may get a kick out of seeing art for this character. If you haven’t yet, I hope you picture this character when you reach that part of the story!
